Destination Wedding Invitation Wording
Wednesday, March 18th, 2009
For out-of-town weddings a bit of care and thought is involved. Not just the wording on the invitations and the theme of the invitations… but, who you are going to invite.
You may have been planning a large wedding in your own home town… but now that you have changed your ideas and are planning a destination wedding, the wedding guest list changes drastically.
The feelings are often mixed for the bride and groom. Of course, they would love to have every one who cares about them attend the wedding, but they know that isn’t possible. Unless someone is willing to foot the bill… most of your guest list isn’t going to be able to fit a destination into their budget.
You may also think that you will hurt many of your friends and relatives if you don’t at least invite them… know that they probably won’t be able to come anyway. You also may be having feelings of concern
Honesty is always best… and by honest, I mean just invite those that you just have to have at the wedding. Your heart would be broken if they couldn’t share your special day. Then figure out a way for all of those people on that short list to get to your wedding.
Everyone else gets and announcement or an invitation to your “in town” reception.
Keep it simple.
